SUNON responds to Earth Hour by turning off lights for an hour and joining over 190 countries, regions, and landmarks worldwide. Together, we support this worldwide voluntary carbon reduction event. Under the increasingly urgent global climate change, everyone, regardless of race, creed, or age, has the capacity and responsibility to change the world when we come together and initiate changes. Taking little efforts, such as using public transportation, purchasing environmentally friendly and energy-efficient appliances, using renewable energy, turning off unnecessary power sources, and living an environmentally conscious lifestyle, are all effective strategies to reduce carbon emissions. Let us do our part for the environment by working together to reach a sustainable and shared vision of net-zero carbon emissions.
So far, 192 countries, over 18,000 cities and towns, and thousands of well-known landmarks have turned off their lights in support of the event. Taiwanese achieved a new record by saving 289kW of power at the 2024 Earth Hour 60 event! On March 22nd, 2025, SUNON personnel and their families at the Kaohsiung headquarters, overseas offices, and production facilities will 'Switch off' from 20:30 pm to 21:30 pm, turning off all non-essential lights to support the event. Come to join us and with millions of other individuals around the world who are advocates for sustaining the future.
